  Excellent service (Karen was prompt and curtious) and atmosphere was great! We went there for the first time today for brunch. My wife had shrimp and grits and I had salmon eggs Benedict. Both dishes were excellently prepared (delicious and visually pleasing) with generous serving sizes at a reasonable price. Definitely recommend.

  Great atmosphere: cozy, comfortable, trendy without being snooty. The food is creative and tasty and is presented beautifully. Portions are almost too generous. This place is not cheap: less expensive than Lantern but more than, say, Acme or The Venable. But still worth it for special occasions or for business dinners.

  We decided to come here after finding a long wait at Elmo's. We were seated right away and we ordered right away. That's were things changed.
  
  The food for all at the table took way too long and the service overall was low by local standards. The chicken eggs benedict with the paprika sauce was pretty awful. The poached eggs were hard boiled and everything tasted like grease and vinegar. The chicken was tiny, mostly breading and dark meat that was served cold. The basic breakfast with eggs, bacon, potato and toast was skimpy for the price.
  
  I can see why Elmo's diner had a 1 hour wait time. We only came to Tandem because we were in a bit of a rush this am.
  
  I will say this, our server once flagged down, quickly went to bring new poached eggs, but this time they were almost too raw to the point the whites were as runny as the yoke and then she disappeared for the remainder of our time. In fact we had flag down someone to get our bill long after we were ready to leave.
  
  There were no apologies or any sign they cared about what was on the plate or the satisfaction of the customers.
  
  Avoid this place, even if you have a long wait elsewhere, you will be much happier.
